Associate Pastor Rubén Torres was born in El Salvador and immigrated to the United States in 1978. He is married to Loly Torres, and they have a son, Geovany, and daughter, Jennifer.
Pastor Rubén’s father was a pastor, and he enjoyed growing up in a Christian household. Pastor Rubén became a member of the United Methodist Church in 1982 in New York. He was commissioned as a local pastor at the Claremont School of Theology, and has been the associate pastor of FUMC of Escondido’s Spanish-language congregation since 2001.
In early 2016, Pastor Rubén also assumed responsibility for our church’s evangelism outreach.
Pastor Rubén enjoys singing, playing the guitar and piano, and in his spare time he likes to play soccer. His favorite Bible verse is Psalms 1. His biggest wish would be for there to be peace in world.
